Ashlee Simpson is in l-o-v-e — with life!

When she’s not busy with her son Bronx, the songstress has been enjoying time with fiancé Evan Ross, to whom she announced her engagement in January.

“Right now I’m just having a blast with Bronx and I’ll be married soon so all those fun details. It’s the best — it’s so much fun!” Simpson told PEOPLE while testing out Skylander’s Trap Team collection at E3 in Los Angeles.

Simpson isn’t the only one who’s planning her upcoming nuptials: Jessica Simpson is also counting down the days until she weds Eric Johnson.

Despite two weddings in the works, the sisters still find plenty of time for family fun, recently celebrating Easter together with their kids, including Jessica’s children Maxwell, 2, and Ace, who turns 1 later this month.

“Bronx is the big cousin and Max just loves trying to keep up with him and has a blast with him. It’s great,” she says.

And with Maxwell just recently celebrating her second birthday, her fun factor has definitely skyrocketed. “Now [Bronx] thinks she’s cool because she’s running around and … she wants to see what Bronx is doing,” Simpson adds. “And Ace will be on his way!”

Bronx is “almost done with school” and is already looking forward to a few months filled with vacations, camps and doing what he loves: jumping on the trampoline, reading books and swimming.

But before he officially kicks off his summer fun, Simpson treated her 5½-year-old son and a few of his friends to an afternoon spent testing out the new Skylander’s Trap Team collection, which hits stores in October, at E3 on Tuesday.

“We’ve never been here before … and Bronx loves video games — and he loves Skylanders — so we’re all looking forward to the new video game,” Simpson told PEOPLE.

“He probably has memorized all the characters! The new characters look incredible and he’s going to have a blast with it. He’s downstairs playing and he already knows all about it.”

First comes marriage — and soon a baby carriage!

Ashlee Simpson is expecting her first child with her husband, singer/actor Evan Ross, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

Simpson, 30, is already mom to 6-year-old Bronx Mowgli, her son with ex-husband Pete Wentz.

The couple, who dated for over a year, tied the knot in August during a family-focused ceremony in Connecticut, where Simpson’s big sister, Jessica, served as matron of honor.

After their bohemian-style nuptials, they were spotted soaking up the sun on their honeymoon in Bali.

“I’m so in love and we’ve got amazing things going on. We inspire each other,” The Hunger Games:Mockingjay star told PEOPLE of Simpson in 2013.

Ross, 26, the son of legendary singer Diana Ross, recently released the music video for his single, “How to Live Alone” — starring his newlywed wife! — but it’s clear he’ll soon be singing a different tune.

Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson have some exciting news.

“We’re having a girl!” Simpson, 30, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The mom-to-be — who PEOPLE confirmed in December was pregnant with her second child — was anxious to find out the sex of their little one on the way. “I like to know — I want to do the nursery,” she says.

According to the singer and actress, they found out that they were expecting this past Thanksgiving, which she calls “a cute, fun day.”

The happy couple tied the knot in a bohemian-style ceremony in August, then took off for a sun-soaked honeymoon in Bali.

The baby girl will be Simpson’s first child with actor-musician Ross, 26. Simpson is already mom to son Bronx Mowgli, 6, with ex-husband Pete Wentz.

“I told him pretty early on,” Simpson says of breaking the news to her firstborn. “And he wanted to have a sister, so he’s really excited! He’s got a little brother. Now he’s going to have a little sister!”

As for what the mom is looking forward to most? “I’m just excited for the new addition,” she says.

A pregnancy’s the perfect time to spoil yourself here and there — just ask Ashlee Simpson.

“I’m just hungry all the time!” the actress and singer, 30, told PEOPLE Thursday at the Crayola Color Alive launch event in New York. “It’s the best time to enjoy your cravings.”

Simpson, who also revealed to PEOPLE exclusively that she and husband Evan Ross are expecting a girl, says it’s so far, so good this pregnancy.

“I feel great. I, luckily, haven’t been sick. It’s been pretty laid-back,” she says, noting her pregnancy with now 6-year-old son Bronx Mowgli went off without a hitch, too. “Nothing’s been hard about it — I feel wonderful!”

Her new husband might just have something to do with that. Dad-to-be Ross, 26, has been delivering in the doting department.

“Massages, cooking — all of that!” Simpson says. “He’s making me feel so special! I feel like the luckiest lady ever. I’m like, ‘Thanks, babe!'”

The happy couple — who wed in August at the Connecticut home of the groom’s mother, Diana Ross — are clearly still in the honeymoon phase.

“It’s amazing,” Simpson says of life as a newlywed. “I love my husband, we have a beautiful family, I love his family … It’s wonderful.”

As for baby names, the pair –who discovered they were expecting on Thanksgiving — are still brainstorming. “I have to hold her, then I’ll know,” Simpson explains.

Still, if her firstborn’s moniker is any indicator, it might be pretty special. “I have some unique ideas,” she admits.

Simpson recently told PEOPLE Bronx (her son with ex husband Pete Wentz) can’t wait to have a little sister. But, for now, the mother and son are enjoying their downtime together leading up to Simpson’s due date.

“It’s fun to have Bronx be a 6-year-old and be able to play with him,” she says, adding Crayola’s new Color Alive is a fun fit for their family. “I’m always looking for something — online, offline — that will engage him but also educate him.”

When Evan Ross tied the knot with Ashlee Simpson in August, the wedding was about more than the couple’s love: They were also sharing their day with someone very special.

The singer/actor said during a Thursday appearance on The Wendy Williams Show that he was honored to have Simpson’s son Bronx Mowgli there for the celebration.

“He was so excited when we got married,” Ross, 26, tells Wendy Williams. “I was like, ‘It’s just as much your wedding as ours.’ ”

But the 6-year-old’s excitement didn’t come as a surprise. According to Ross, dating — and eventually marrying — Simpson has been a smooth transition for the blended families.

“He’s my friend, we became like homies, we’re good buddies,” he explains of Simpson’s son with ex-husband Pete Wentz.

And the feelings are mutual. “It’s amazing. I can’t even tell you how incredible that child is — he’s unbelievable!” says Ross. “He’s been a blessing in my life and I’ve learned so much from him.”

Soon there will be even more love to go around: Ross is expecting his first child — a girl! — with Simpson. Although they’re keeping their daughter’s name under wraps for now, the dad-to-be admits her moniker won’t follow any food trends.

“We’ve got a few ideas, but we’re keeping that for us,” he says. “No, it’s not going to be apple, orange, anything like that … it’s going to be different though.”

Evan Ross may soon be the novice parent of a newborn, but Ashlee Simpson wouldn’t quite call herself an expert: She thinks she’ll need to brush up on her baby skills, too.

“I think that no matter what, with every child it’s different,” the mom-to-be, who’s expecting a daughter, told PEOPLE at Monday’s screening of Ross’s new film, Just Before I Go.

“It feels new to me too, and it’s been six years, so I’m like, ‘Here we go! We gotta learn how to get the swaddle on again!’ ”

But the future first-time father — who Simpson says is “already amazing” — isn’t letting his nerves get the best of him. “A lot of times, nervousness is actually just being excited and I can’t wait,” he shares.

“It is the most special thing that I could ever think of, and I’m really excited.”

Equally ecstatic about the baby girl’s upcoming arrival is 6-year-old big brother Bronx Mowgli, Simpson’s son with ex-husband Pete Wentz.

“He’s so excited! He has a little brother already, so he’s excited that he’s having a little sister now,” Simpson, 30, says, referring to Wentz’s 8-month-old son with girlfriend Meagan Camper.

“He actually said, ‘She’ll be so adorable! She’ll want to do tea parties!’ ”

Adds Ross, 26, “And he was like, ‘I’m not sure that I’ll do them, but maybe I’ll do them once in a while … ‘ ”

Simpson is “feeling really great” and staying in shape throughout her pregnancy with the help of Tracy Anderson‘s prenatal workouts. The exercises, she jokes, have even become a tag-team effort as Ross has started with his own training sessions.

“What is funny is that I’ve been bringing all of my boys to do it now! I swear to God, they do a different workout and it’s brilliant,” says Ross.

And although the mom-to-be admits she’s “sitting [while] he does the hard stuff,” Ross gives his pregnant wife plenty of props.

“What she does is actually amazing, and when I get to watch her do it, it’s the cutest thing in the world,” he says of her workouts.

It’s no surprise Ashlee Simpson‘s baby shower celebrating her impending arrival was a relaxed affair.

The mom-to-be — she’s expecting a daughter with husband Evan Ross, 26 — was surrounded by 65 guests at the party, held Sunday evening at sister Jessica Simpson‘s house.

“It was beautiful weather and her house was the perfect setting … so gorgeous,” says an attendee, who adds that Simpson’s newly-engaged mom Tina helped arrange the event.

“It was very chill and almost like just a get-together than a traditional shower,” adds the guest. “It wasn’t focused on games [and was] more like a big party.”

Simpson, 30 — who “looked gorgeous” dressed in a “super flowy, Bohemian-style” outfit — also shared a little bit of the spotlight with her mom. “Everyone was talking about Tina’s engagement and about her ring. She seems really happy,” says the source.

“It feels new to me,” Simpson told PEOPLE in April about expecting baby number two (she shares son Bronx Mowgli, 6, with ex-husband Pete Wentz). “I’m like, ‘Here we go! We gotta learn how to swaddle again!'”

With wife Ashlee Simpson ready to deliver their daughter any day now, actor and singer Evan Ross can’t wait to become a first-time father.

“I’m so excited. I can’t wait. We’re getting the nursery ready right now,” Ross, 26, told PEOPLE at the launch of OmniPeace‘s Rwanda Rocks! campaign at STK at the W Hotel in Beverly Hills on Thursday night.

But until the baby comes, Ross has his focus set on only one thing: His wife’s well-being. “I’m just taking care of her,” says Ross, who performed at the event (even dedicating a song to wife Simpson, 30, who sat in the audience).

He adds, “That’s my job right now.”

While the couple eagerly anticipate the arrival of their baby girl, they are also getting to enjoy newlywed life. “It’s amazing,” shares Ross, who married Simpson at his mother Diana Ross‘ estate in Connecticut in 2014. “The surprise [about being married] is that there are no surprises.”

They do have big surprises in store for their daughter however, namely to spoil her rotten. “That’s the main goal,” jokes Ross. “She’s going to come into this world being spoiled by her family and by my family. They can’t help it.”

As for a name, Ross admits they have indeed picked one out for their daughter, but they’re keeping it a secret for now. “Yeah, it’s unique,” says Ross. “You guys will figure out the story behind it once we tell the name.”

Evan Ross is one excited dad-to-be!

At a party celebrating his upcoming debut album held Tuesday at the Kia Beach House in Malibu, the Hunger Games star gifted his wife Ashlee Simpson with her push present: A limited-edition Chanel Graffiti Messenger 2015 Green Cross Body Bag he purchased from Maxfield.

“He brought it out to the deck and gave it to her in front of her family and friends,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She was so surprised. Her dad Joe loved it and gave Evan a pat on the back.”

Simpson, 30, was a late arrival at the Gevalia Iced Coffee–sponsored bash but “was smiling all day” once she arrived, adds the source.

“I’m so excited. I can’t wait. We’re getting the nursery ready right now,” Ross, 26, told PEOPLE last month about becoming a father. “I’m just taking care of [Ashlee]. That’s my job right now.”

The newlyweds have also already picked out a name for their daughter, but they are keeping it under wraps until she’s born.

“It’s unique,” Ross hinted. “You guys will figure out the story behind it once we tell the name.”

It’s a girl!

Ashlee Simpson welcomed her first child with her husband, singer and actor Evan Ross, on Thursday, July 30, they announced on their Instagrams Friday.

“We are overjoyed about the birth of our precious baby girl, Jagger Snow Ross,” the couple wrote.

“Ashlee is doing amazing and their daughter is perfect,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She’s gorgeous!”

The singer and actress, 30, and Ross, 26, celebrated the pending arrival of their baby girl with a whimsical baby shower at sister Jessica Simpson‘s home in June.

“Daddy @realevanross and my brother @rossnaess. It was an amazing night. #babyshower,” the mom-to-be captioned a photo of her sitting on a moon cutout under a sky of hanging stars.

The couple announced they were expecting a baby together in December — and told PEOPLE exclusively in February that it was a girl! But despite already being mom to 6½-year-old son Bronx Mowgli, Simpson admitted everything felt like a whole new experience.

“I think that no matter what, with every child it’s different. It feels new to me too, and it’s been six years, so I’m like, ‘Here we go! We gotta learn how to get the swaddle on again!’ ” she joked to PEOPLE in April.

While Ross doted on his pregnant wife with “massages, cooking — all of that!” the future father was also soaking up plenty of quality time with Bronx, Simpson said.

“It’s amazing. I can’t even tell you how incredible that child is — he’s unbelievable!” said Ross. “He’s been a blessing in my life and I’ve learned so much from him.”

One thing the proud parents-to-be wouldn’t discuss? Possible names for their daughter. After saying on The Wendy Williams Show in February that they would steer clear of fruit-inspired ideas, Ross and Simpson ultimately decided on a “unique” — but meaningful — name.

“You guys will figure out the story behind it once we tell the name,” he promised PEOPLE in June.

Meet Jagger Snow Ross!

The 8-week-old baby girl — joined by Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson — made her digital debut on Thursday in a sweet snapshot posted to Instagram by her proud new parents.

In the family photo, the couple gaze down at their daughter, who’s dressed up in a white tutu.

“We love her so much!!! She is beyond everything!!! I have the best baby daddy in the world,” Simpson, 30, writes.

The Wicked City star, 27, shared the same picture, writing, “Every day has been the best day!!! Such a wonderful blessing. Love you [Ashlee] best mommy in the world.”

The couple’s first child together arrived on July 30 and joins Simpson’s 6½-year-old son Bronx Mowgli.

Simpson — who is also mom to son Bronx Mowgli, 7 next month — and Ross welcomed Jagger in late July.

The little lady’s Instagram debut came in September, when the proud parents posted a family portrait.

“We love her so much!!! She is beyond everything!!! I have the best baby daddy in the world,” Simpson wrote of the photo.

Ross also shared the image, writing, “Every day has been the best day!!! Such a wonderful blessing. Love you [Ashlee] best mommy in the world.”

As new parents, Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross don’t get out much — and they’re just fine with that.

Though she and Ross enjoyed a night out at the Guitar Hero Live Launch Party in Los Angeles on Monday night, Simpson tells PEOPLE she and her husband are “homebodies.”

“We ran home to see the kids right after,” says Simpson, who gave birth to her daughter Jagger Snow just 11 weeks ago and is also mom to son Bronx Mowgli, 7 next month.

“Their age difference is really sweet. Bronx is such a good big brother. He’s a pro. He dances for her and entertains her,” Simpson, 31, adds of her son with ex-husband Pete Wentz. “It makes home so awesome.”

“Bronx is so good with her,” he says. “He carries her and makes sure he watches her all the time. We have an amazing family.”

Simpson says Jagger is already smiling all the time and has the “cutest little personality” with a “cute, silent laugh,” but she’s also not afraid to exercise her power as the baby of the family.

“She definitely knows what she wants and will let you know,” Simpson says of her daughter. Adds Ross, with a laugh: “She got that from her mom.”

At just 6 years old, Ashlee Simpson‘s son Bronx Mowgli is already showing signs that his parents’ musical talents have been passed on.

“He’s so into music,” Simpson, 31, tells PEOPLE of her son with ex-husband Pete Wentz. “He loves to dance around and he writes little songs. They’re good! It’s so cute.”

Bronx might even get a taste of being a rock star thanks to a present it sounds like he’s getting for his seventh birthday next month.

Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross took to the mountains recently with their baby girl Jagger Snow and Bronx Mowgli, Simpson’s son with ex-husband Pete Wentz.

Evan Ross took to Instagram on Saturday to share a snapshot from Thursday night’s festivities, which called for a super-sweet celebration that included the musician-actor’s extended family.

Joining the Hunger Games star was wife Ashlee Simpson with her 7-year-old son Bronx Mowgli (with ex-husband Pete Wentz), sister-in-law Jessica and her husband Eric Johnson, who is seen picking up 3-year-old daughter Maxwell.

Ashlee and big sister Jessica Simpson brought their respective broods together for some quality family time on Sunday, and the photographic evidence couldn’t be more adorable.

In one image, Jessica’s son Ace Knute, 2, whose father is Eric Johnson, snuggled up to Ashlee and Evan Ross‘s daughter Jagger Snow, 6 months.

Ashlee, 31, shared a closeup of her new addition (she’s also mom to 7-year-old Bronx Mowgli, her son with ex Pete Wentz) on Instagram.

The wide-eyed baby girl already has envy-inducing lashes. “Them there eyes,” Ross, 27, added on his own version of the picture.

Jessica proceeded to document more of the family-first day, including the social media lesson she received from daughter Maxwell Drew, 3.

In the sweet snap, Maxwell perfectly puckered her pout for the camera — and advised her mom to do the same.

Ace pulled some equally darling antics on Sunday, first hiding inside a giant pot and then, later, frolicking along a rock-lined beach.

Ashlee Simpson slimmed down in no time!

The singer and actress, 31, quickly dropped the baby weight after the birth of her daughter Jagger Snow — around 40 lbs. — in just five months with the help of her trainer, Ramona Braganza.

“While it’s often tougher to lose the baby weight the second time around, it is possible!” Braganza tells PEOPLE.

“Seven years ago, after the birth of her son Bronx, Ashlee lost 25 lbs. in two and half months. This time around, at 30, with slightly more weight to lose, what helped her drop a consistent two pounds a week was exercising five days a week and burning 800 or more calories per workout session.”

Braganza put Simpson on her 3-2-1 Baby Bulge Be Gone program, which starts by focusing on core work, and then slowly ramping cardio and strength training back up to look lean and toned.

Simpson also revamped her diet, eating three meals and two snacks a day of nutrient-rich superfoods, and chugging down at least a liter of water along with metabolism-boosting teas.

But what really got Simpson to the finish line, Braganza says, was the support of husband Evan Ross.

“Having a hands on daddy like Evan proved to be a big motivation,” Braganza says. “Taking turns watching his daughter as his wife worked out, prepping some post-workout snacks and performing nighttime daddy duty proved to be a big part in Ashlee’s weight loss success.”

Ross even joined in on the workout fun, with his own “Daddy weight loss mission,” Braganza says.

“It was a chance for him to step up with his workouts. We trained either before or after Ashlee’s sessions, following my 3-2-1 Training Method. He leaned out and bulked up for his shirtless scenes on Wicked City.”

Evan Ross still can’t get enough of his young family.

The new dad posted an adoring Instagram picture Saturday of his baby girl, Jagger Snow, and wife Ashlee Simpson at the pool, along with a one-word caption: “LOVE.”

The couple have been positively effusive with Jagger since her July birth. Simpson, 31, put it this way in a September family photo:

“Jagger Snow Ross !! We love her so much!!! She is beyond everything!!! I have the best baby daddy @realevanross In the world. Love you.”

Sharing that same photo, Ross, 27, wrote, “Every day has been the best day!!! Such a wonderful blessing. Love you [Ashlee] best mommy in the world.”

The family has already started making vacation memories together: They headed to Aspen late last year, along Simpson’s son with ex-husband Pete Wentz, Bronx Mowgli, a budding songwriter himself.

“He dances for her and entertains her,” Simpson told PEOPLE in October. “Bronx is such a good big brother. He’s a pro.”

Ashlee Simpson‘s next foray? Comedy — but only at home.

“She’s laughing. That’s the best,” Simpson told PEOPLE of her 9-month-old daughter Jagger Snow‘s latest achievements at Swiffer and Mr. Clean’s Clean Slate Workshop in New York City Tuesday.

“I do a fake sneeze and she thinks it’s so funny,” the mother of two, who is married to Evan Ross, adds. “Her laugh makes me feel like I’m funny.”

And that’s not all Jagger is up to these days. She’s a crawling machine, according to her mom, which has turned Simpson into a clean freak.

“Now that my 9-month-old is starting to crawl, my eyes see every little speck,” Simpson, 31, says. “Having two kids definitely does leave quite a mess, so cleaning is very important.”

But the mess might get bigger, as Simpson — who also has a 7½-year-old son named Bronx Mowgli with her ex-husband, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz — wants more children.

“Yeah, definitely,” Simpson reveals when asked if she wants to expand the family. “Not right now, but maybe sometime in the next year.”

And there’s at least one other person who’d be on board with that: Diana Ross.

“She’s awesome, she’s such a good grandmother,” Simpson says of her husband’ famous mom.

“She’s obsessed,” Ross chimes in. “She’s more excited about being grandmother than anything else in her life. She says, ‘It’s little me!’ ”

And it’s obvious why: Jagger has an ear for tunes, like her musically-inclined family.

“She’s got a good ear. She can copy really well,” Ross says proudly.

“She likes music,” Simpson adds. “We listen to music during bath time.”
